Hello,
Yesterday, the Piper Aztec aircraft could be make its transfert flight
from Toulouse (its home place ) to the Cergy Pontoise campaign airport,
under difficult conditions, due to fog.
We plan a first (double) flight on Sunday (and had already to fix the
sector today , 2 days in advance because of special weekend procedure).
Vans should please also be ready to measure.
Conditions are still uncertain and need to be confirmed.
Saturday local pollution build-up expected especially in the evening due
to light winds (if not rain-out).
See many of you at 14h at LHVP!
Campaign Forecast for the period Friday 22/1 to Monday 24/1 issued
Friday 22/1 8h

Friday 22/1:
T max 6°C, cloudy, precipitation forecasted in the evening, but risk
already during the day
See rain radar observations http://www.meteox.fr
Light surface winds (10 km/h) from S-SE, also GSF SE-S,
SIRTA lidar : between 100 and 200 m 15 km/h from 170 to 200° (S)
Surface PM2.5 < 50 µg/m3, POA < 20 µg/m3; well defined plume to N sector
=> aircraft flight is not maintained due to precipitation risk in N sector
=> Suggestion of plume measurements in N sector (180°)
=> Maxdoas , outer circle, as well developed plume
Saturday 23/1:
T max 6°C, rainy
Light surface winds (10 km/h) from SE in the morning, variable in the
afternoon, GSF S in the morning and noon, then variable; wind forecast is
uncertain
Surface PM2.5 < 50 µg/m3, POA > 20 µg/m3; no plume due to light ,
variable winds; but from later GSF forecast, plume should be in north
=> no aircraft flight foreseen due to precipitation risk
=> Suggestion of plume measurements in N sector (? Rain?)
=> Maxdoas , medium circle, as not well developed plume, (but pb. if rain ?)
Sunday 24/1:
T max 5°C, cloudy, GSF still rainy in Paris in the morning
Moderately light surface winds (10 - 20 km/h) from NW to NW-W (afternoon)

=> Piper Aztec flight reserved for SE sector (first circular flight around
Paris 11h30 - 13h LT, second plume flight in SE sector 14 LT – 16 LT,
flight altitude 300 m above ground)
needs to be confirmed tomorrow
=> Suggestion of plume measurements in SW sector with van (vans)

T max 4°C, rainy, GSF precipitation and snow
Light surface winds (5 km/h) from W-NW to W-SW
